"Synth(e) is a duet choreographed and performed by Cherie Carson and Jim Chappeleaux. These two are perhaps the best matched dance partners on the Atlanta scene. They have been working together for years, and it shows. Moving together with fluid energy, they find ways to combine and recombine the male and female forms, showing how the sum of a relationship can be greater than its parts. The electronic music they have chosen seems eerie at first: it seems as if we should be hearing a romantic piece of classical music instead. But ultimately, this choice of sound enhances the overall effect. The work is about synthesizing, putting things together in a new way. It’s electric."

During the first segments the huge shadows of the dancers loom over the audience as if they are divine beings looking over their children.
