| Aerial Dance Day of the Dead -A raucous aerial parade of skeletons honoring our ancestors premiers October 31, Nov 2 and 3, 2007! The Love Letter Videos Saha - Migration End Completed 2001! Originally created as a multimedia performance focusing on the beauty of the Everglades. It is inspired by the wildlife that makes this slow moving river their home. This exploration incorporated video, moving light design, shadow puppets,and dancers on and off stilts. On March 5, 2000, Saha was performed as part of the Duncan Theatre Dances in Lake Worth, FL. Currently, Carson just completed an art video incorporating the "crane" solo excerpted from Saha and performed by Susan Sanborn. Video was shot in the Everglades and at Okeeheelee Park in Florida. Concept, Choreography & Video by Cherie Carson (Oakland, CA) "El Vestido de Once Baras" or "The Dress of Eleven Yards" (site-specific video) A collaborative piece involving music, prose, poetry and dance movement in a v e r y B I G dress. It explores the fact that women’s lives are overwhelmed, both by what is expected of them and by what they seek. Text created by Cuban/American writer Meg Medina and music created by John & Bill Storch. This work has been performed In Seattle, Atlanta, Palm Beach and at the 1999 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Carson is currently in collaboration with John Williams, Rubicon Pictures, on the video version of this piece. The video version was taped at a dance/video residency at Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna, FL. Taking the 11 yards of organza to the beach, the choreography was created for the site with the Atlantic ocean swirling behind.
